Title: Community Re-Entry Support Services for Justice-Involved Persons
Learning Objectives:
Following presentation, participants will:
1. Demonstrate an increased understanding of the various all-inclusive support services at a county sheriff’s department.
2. Understand the role and importance of support services for reducing recidivism.
3. Identify components of the OT framework and process that apply and complement practice in a criminal justice setting.
Join the Mental Health SIG and welcome guest speaker, Jake Ferrara, OT, OTR, from
Hampden County Sheriff’s Department, to present on OT’s Perspective on All Inclusive Support Services in Criminal Justice Facilities. Jake is an occupational therapist with 10 years of experience in human services, mostly in corrections. Jake will walk you through the variety of community integrative, recovery-oriented services offered to individuals involved in the criminal justice system. Meeting includes opportunities for networking and discussion.
