    Occupational Therapy Training Class in Low Vision

    Low vision is a significant, exciting practice area for OT’s.  Learn how to provide low vision rehabilitation training and get 36 AOTA approved contact hours at a very affordable cost.

    Course Curriculum

    §  Anatomy and physiology of the visual system

    §  The aging eye, visual impairments and resources

    §  Functional vision assessment and tests

    §  Optical and non-optical systems to help teach reading and writing

    §  Environmental modifications/safety and training for ADL’s and IADL’s

    §  Strategies to reduce the risk of falls

    §  Psychosocial concerns and community resources

    Course Methodology

    §  Eight on-line training modules (one per week)

    § Two lab sessions on a weekend day

    Course Details

    • Cost- $400
    • There is per diem work available
    • $100 rebate for OT’s who join our practice
    • An additional $200 rebate for OT’s who see patients in the city of Boston, Cape Ann, Cape Cod, greater Springfield, Metrowest or the Merrimack Valley
