The Division of Occupational Therapy at Western New England University announces an exciting opportunity to join the faculty team in the Entry-Level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Program.With our first cohort of students scheduled to graduate in August, 2020, the OTD Program invites applications for a clinical faculty appointment (non-tenure track). This is a 12-month position that is available beginning in academic year 2019-2020. The start date for this position is negotiable.
Individuals seeking the Clinical Assistant Professor (renewable term) appointment, will have a vision for providing experiential opportunities that foster student self-reflection and transformative learning, and should be self-directed toward the development of collaborative relationships with local practice communities. Interested applicants should have clinical experience, be prepared to creatively initiate interprofessional practices in fieldwork settings, and embrace a situational leadership approach in the supervision of fieldwork students at on-site locations. Academic and clinical supervisory experience with Level I or Level II fieldwork students is preferred.
Applicants seeking to join our current faculty team should hold an earned doctoral degree (e.g. Ph.D, Ed.D., OTD, Sc.D.) from a regionally accredited institution or have demonstrated significant progress towards earning a doctoral degree. Applicants must possess a minimum of 3 years of documented clinical expertise as an occupational therapist with a strong clinical background in one of the following areas: adult & aging practice (acute/chronic physical disabilities or mental health); infants, children & youth practice (medical conditions/chronic disabilities or mental health and learning/developmental disabilities); or population-based community health, wellness and prevention.
Applicants must be initially certified by NBCOT, hold current AOTA Membership, and be licensed or licensure eligible in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
