Salem State University requires the addition of a full-time, tenure-track occupational therapy faculty member to teach in a growing program. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of accreditation standards, experience in program development, and have a background in research and grant writing. Teaching assignments may include courses in part-time evening combined BS/MS OTA bridge and MS direct-entry programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with the MSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, scholarship and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. The position is subject to available funding.
Qualified applicants should have a research-related terminal degree (PhD, OTD (post professional only) EdD, or ScD) or provide proof of significant progress toward the terminal degree. Candidates must be NBCOT certified and eligible for licensure as an OTR in Massachusetts; and have a minimum of five years clinical practice experience.
An earned doctorate in occupational therapy or a related field; previous university/college teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level; a record of scholarly productivity or professional impact in pedagogical and applied research in occupational therapy or related fields; experience in and a commitment to teaching in a multiracial, multiethnic environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles; a demonstrated record of, or potential for, effective teaching in a variety of instructional formats (e.g., face-to-face, hybrid, online); and evidence of membership and active involvement in AOTA and other organizations related to occupational therapy.
